MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCES / BACKGROUND

Coming from a Shipping & Trade background, we traded on a World Wide basis since last 75 years. Our family owned & operated ships, we maintained a large fleet of ships over time. 

Our father started shipping biz with Japanese owners after WW11. He had offices in Hong Kong in early 1950s, moved to Hamburg in early 1960s, in 1965 opened a Baltic Exchange ship brokering company & moved operations to London, we had offices New York. He was extensively involved in transportation of Wheat / Aid programs and US Government PL480 from 1950s - 1978.

After training in 1978, we started trade in Raw Material, Steel Scrap, Pig Iron, HBI,  Steels & Semi Finished products, Slabs, Billets, main markets was India and China, we were known suppliers of Steel Scrap to MSTC, Structural Steels to SAIL and to MMTC (Indian Government undertaking Groups.

We carried Grains & Feed cargo for PL480, CARE, Church & various Governments, like Grain Board of Iraq & many other Governments around the world we carried out Lightning operations on ship to ship transfer of of Cape size / Panamax vessels with mobile vac-u-vators in small ports.  We have extensive experiences in discharging & bagging operations with mobile units for grains / fertilisers etc.

One of our main market was Iraq, from 1978 - 86 we transported major shipments to Grain Board of Iraq in last 2 years we combines two parcels 25,000 MT in Panamax & OBO vessels, first time done in Middle East, this reducing shipments time & costs, we used Isdemir Steel Mill berth to truck from Iskenderun to Mosul 1300 KM, Kuwait to Basra 600 KM, Aqaba to Baghdad 1400 KM, we discharge the Gearless vessel with our owned vac-u-vators (grain discharging mobile units).

From 1982-84 we contracted large production of pig iron, basic & foundry grades in Brazil from small foundries based on Iron Ore & Charcoal for export to India and China. 

We traded Animal Feed to Libya In 1987-88 in bulk & operated Mobile Bagging stations on direct from vessel to truck with bagged cargo.

We have developed extensive experience of Raw Material Benefaction, Crushing & Washing Plants, preparing raw material for industry.

We got involved in Direct Reduced Iron / Hot Briquetted Iron as trade.  During 1978-80 we got involved with Midrex series 400 for production of Sponge as a substitute to Shredded Steel Scrap in EAF Melting. 

We traded raw material to EAF & rolling mills and from 1990 involved in supply to BF integrated Mills, from 1995 we learned about endless rolling, Hot Strip Mill. 

We developed interest in Non-Ferrous & Copper Floatation, SX EW (Solvent Extraction, Heap Leaching). 

In 1990 - 2002 We gained experience working with consulting groups like Mclellans & Partners & design institutes with Steel Mills on Plants Privatisation & Revamping, Relocation on Plants, Design Institutes etc.

We Introduced Ispat Karmet Temirtau to Chinese now under Kazak control Qarmet Temirtau & we also invited ENRC Kazakhstan to MECC & Ministry of Metallurgy of China Government.

We have big possibility develop large projects of Ferrous & Non Ferrous plants with highest technologies & Equipment supply and or EPC contracts. 

We cooperated with Danieli, Italy for Pakistan Steel from 2004 - 2014 (Mill closed down in 2015)
